About Dr. Lauritzen
Doctor Christopher “Airborne” Lauritzen is the newest member of the Platinum Dental team. Dr. Lauritzen was born in Whittier, California and raised on a cattle ranch in Central Utah. He enlisted in the US Army and eventually became a green beret. Dr. Lauritzen, a multi-sport college athlete, served in the National Guard while he pursued his education; and then entered into a successful private dental practice in Texas. In response to the events of September 11, 2001, he sold his practice and re-entered the active duty military from the Texas National Guard in 2002.
Dr. Lauritzen comes to Platinum with extensive experience and educational credentials. He graduated cum laude from Utah State University, and is unique among dentists, not only holding a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska; but a master’s degree in Health Services Management (University of Mary-Hardin Baylor), as well a graduate certificate in International Healthcare Leadership (Park University). He has completed two post-doctoral residencies in comprehensive dentistry and is board-certified by the American Board of General Dentistry. He is currently pursuing a PhD from Benedictine University. He has thousands of hours of dental continuing education that have earned him both a Fellowship and a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Lauritzen is a member of numerous professional associations including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Board of General Dentistry, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In 2009 he was chosen as one of “America’s Top Dentists”.
Outside the Office
Dr. Lauritzen and his wife Kristy have six children, four of whom are adopted. All four of their boys have served, or are currently serving, in the US Army. After deploying five times, commanding an airborne infantry unit, as well a number of award winning military healthcare clinics; Chris retired from the military in 2016, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Utah where he teaches dental leadership and ethics. Chris has participated in a number of foreign humanitarian medical missions and donates his time to number of civic and charitable causes. He loves his family, traveling, the outdoors, sports and adventure. He spends as much time in the wilds of Utah as possible.
