Which Fruits and Veggies are Better Organic?

Although “organic” fruits and vegetables often come at a premium, sometimes they offer you a cleaner (literally) food than their non-organic counterparts. This is because Organic fruits and vegetables are grown without pesticides or fertilizers with synthetic ingredients.

So, when buying organic, it is best to buy the fruits and vegetables that would have easily absorbed those chemicals and substances. Buy non-organic food that you peel or that has smooth skin that does not attract and retain the pesticides and chemicals from the field as well. The question is, which foods are the “dirtiest”, and which aren’t?

“Dirty” Vegetables (that you should buy organic):

  1. Celery
  2. Spinach
  3. Bell Peppers
  4. Cucumbers
  5. Sugar Snap Peas
  6. Strawberries
  7. Lettuce

“Clean” Vegetables (that you shouldn’t buy organic):

  1. Avocados
  2. Corn on the Cob
  3. Cabbage
  4. Onions
  5. Bananas
